Job Description
Responsibilities
- To study & understand benchmarked engines and vehicles, suggest continuous improvements to enhance the product value.
- To analyse and optimise engine combustion parameters for performance, emissions, durability and driveability.
- To meet the engineering targets for engine and vehicle level EMS calibration.
- To analyse test results and optimise the system to meet the targets.
- To support for prototype build activity, ensure timely availability of prototype components as per prototype build plan.
- To prepare and execute component level test plan
- To interact with other departments and testing agencies and to ensure timely completion of validation plan
- To support production and process validation
- To preparation of project reports and technical documentation for certification
- To study, understand and implement regulatory requirements and ensure engine level compliance
- To conduct pre-certification tests (emissions, engine power etc) and co-ordinate with certification agencies.
- To investigate field complaints at site and resolve the same and suggest improvements to avoid future field complaints.
- To project future test requirements and procure required test equipments, support in execution /commissioning of new test facilities.
- To study and implement cost saving and quality improvement ideas
- To ensure capability improvement of team
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Applicants should be Indian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
- Preferably Managers specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent. Job role in R&D Engineer or equivalent.
- Should possess in depth knowledge of engine aggregates and its interaction with other vehicle subsystems
- Should possess in depth knowledge of engine design and development methodology
- Should possess in depth knowledge of engine operating principles and performance characterisation
- Should possess technical knowledge in the area of combustion, heat transfer, manufacturing methodology, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
- Should possess basic knowledge of electronics and instrumentation
- Should have good communication & presentation skills
- Exposure to engine calibration tools is an added advantage
- Exposure to Indian and European regulatory requirements is an added advantage
- Experience in auto OEM / testing agency involved in engine development activity will be an added advantage.
