As a member of Amazon.com's global Retail Systems development team, you'll play a key role in the creation and evolution of our Amazon Points systems to solve the world’s most complex technical challenges in scalability, distributed systems, large-scale computing, and Web applications – just to name a few. Amazon Points systems are in charge of providing customer loyalty features to millions of shoppers, and are invoked by website shopping applications millions of times – each day!
The Amazon Points team is looking for can-do software development engineers to join a new team in Bangalore, India that will be tasked with the following directive – create a new points platform that can simultaneously manage multiple loyalty programs for all Amazon websites world-wide. You will also be in charge of building out new features for the existing loyalty points program – which means you’ll be able to both design and build completely new systems and deliver features with an immediate impact to shoppers. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 0.3months - 15 years relevant work experience
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, C# or Java
• Familiarity with at least one website rendering technology such as PERL or JSP
• A good engineer will demonstrate that they can proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant technologies, and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, accurate software deliverables.
• Clear, professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions.
