Job Description / Responsibility
Should have around 7+ year of UNIX experience with 5+ years of demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining Sun Solaris environment, will be responsible for
- Installing, configuring and maintaining Sun Servers (Solaris 9/10)
- Proficiency in supporting various sun hardware like (E15k, E1290, E6800/6900, E4800 V890, V880, V490, V480, E420r) running Solaris operating system.
- Configuring and administering Solaris Zones and Containers on Sun Solaris 10 operating system
- Sun Virtualisation, LDOM & Server Sizing.
- Installation and configuration of HA environment using Sun or Veritas Cluster.
- Configuration and administration of Sun and Veritas logical volume manager.
- Installing and Maintaining Solaris Jumpstart environment
- Patch and Package administration
- Printer Administration
- Writing shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task
- Configuring and supporting domain on Sun Fire Servers
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
- Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance
- Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
- Installation, configuration and Administration of Netbackup environment
- Administration of NIS or LDAP environment
- Configuring Unix Security baseline
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
- Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning.
